Remote Denial of Service in vsftpd

This is a proof-of-concept code for exploiting the CVE-2011-0762 vulnerability in vsftpd. The vulnerability allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (DoS) by sending a specially crafted command to the FTP server. The affected version is 2.3.2, and the fix is available in version 2.3.4.

Microsoft IIS Crash Vulnerability

An email with a filename consisting of over 86 characters and an extension of .txt.eml will cause Microsoft IIS to crash if placed in the mailrootpickup directory. The process inetinfo.exe will crash, resulting in a Dr. Watson access violation error. Restarting IIS is required in order to regain normal functionality.

Services.exe Denial of Service

A specially crafted packet can cause a denial of service on an NT 4.0 host, rendering local administration and network communication nearly unusable. This attack will crash the 'services' executable, which in turn, disables the ability for the machine to perform actions via named pipes. As a consequence, users will be unable to remotely logon, logoff, manage the registry, create new file share connections, or perform remote administration. Services such as Internet Information Server may also fail to operate as expected. Rebooting the affected machine will resolve the issue, provided it is not attacked again. The problem lies within the manner that srvsvc.dll makes calls to services.exe. Certain MSRPC calls will return NULL values which are not correctly interpreted by services.exe. This, in turn, may lead to a crash of Services.exe.If this denial of service is combined with a number of other exploits, it may be possible to have this attack spawn a Debugger (ie Dr Watson) call on the host, which, if trojaned, may execute malicious code on the target host.

Windows Explorer DoS

The DoS is caused by an unhandled exception in the module Shmedia.dll, which is loaded via Explorer.exe. The exploit code contains assembly instructions that manipulate registers and perform an integer division by zero, resulting in a crash.

GOM Player AVI DoS Exploit

This exploit causes a denial of service (DoS) by exploiting a vulnerability in GOM Player version 2.1.28.5039. By opening a specially crafted AVI file, an attacker can trigger an access violation exception, causing the application to crash and become unresponsive.

Remote Denial of Service Vulnerability in Mozilla Firefox

A remote denial of service vulnerability exists in Mozilla Firefox. The vulnerability occurs when the browser handles a specially crafted IFRAME. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to crash the application or consume excessive CPU and memory resources on affected computers.
