The Artists component for Joomla! and Mambo is prone to an SQL-injection vulnerability

The Artists component for Joomla! and Mambo is prone to an SQL-injection vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data before using it in an SQL query. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted HTTP request to the vulnerable application. This request contains malicious SQL statements that can be used to access or modify data in the backend database.

Mitigation:

Input validation should be used to ensure that untrusted data is not used to construct SQL queries in a way that would allow an attacker to modify the logic of the executed query.
