Axessh 4.2 ‘Log file name’ – Denial of Service (PoC)

Axessh 4.2 is vulnerable to a denial of service attack when a maliciously crafted string is supplied as the 'Log file name' parameter. This causes the application to crash when the 'OK' button is clicked.

Mitigation:

Users should avoid supplying untrusted input to the 'Log file name' parameter.

#Steps to produce the crash:
#1.- Run python code: Axessh_4.2.py
#2.- Open Axess.txt and copy content to clipboard
#3.- Open Axessh.exe
#4.- In "Telnet Connect Host" select "Details>>" > "Settings"
#5.- Select "Logging" and enable "Log all sessions output"
#6.- In "Log file name" paste Clipboard
#7.- Select "OK" and in "Telnet Connect Host" select "Ok"
#8.- Crashed
