Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability in Redmine

Redmine is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may let the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Mitigation:

To mitigate this vulnerability, it is recommended to sanitize and validate user-supplied input before using it in web application responses. Redmine should implement proper input sanitization mechanisms to prevent cross-site scripting attacks.
