ExpressionEngine HTML-injection Vulnerability
ExpressionEngine is prone to an HTML-injection vulnerability due to a failure in the application to properly sanitize user-supplied input to HTTP 'Referer' header before using it in dynamically generated content. Attacker-supplied HTML and script code would execute in the context of the affected site, potentially allowing an attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials or to control how the site is rendered to the user; other attacks are also possible.
Mitigation:
Input validation should be used to ensure that user-supplied data is properly sanitized.
