LG Router Denial of Service

LG routers are vulnerable to a denial of service attack when scanned with nmap using the fingerprinting option. When the router is scanned with a tool such as nmap, and the fingerprinting option is enabled, the router may crash.

Mitigation:

LG has released a firmware update to address this issue.

The LR series WAN routers are hardware and firmware solutions manufactured and distributed by LG Electronics.

It has been reported that scanning some LG routers using various IP flags can cause the router to become unstable. When the router is scanned with a tool such as nmap, and the fingerprinting option is enabled, the router may crash.
